TIVEE
Connecting worlds: TIVEE brings FAST Channels to DVB-C. TIVEE, the first HbbTV application integrating Free-Ad-Supported TV (FAST) channels as a white label service into DVB-C networks, combines the advantages of cable TV and internet-based streaming. While providing a comprehensive portfolio of FAST content and monetization, it also offers in-app and in-stream advertising space, for cable operators and advertisers to monetize content, thus bridging the gap between cable and internet TV using a dynamic ad platform. Network operators can use those ads together with their individual company logo to reach viewers directly in their living room.

Innovative Hybrid Model TIVEE’s HbbTV hybrid model bridges the gap between traditional TV and modern FAST channels, while allowing cable operators to offer high-quality content using their own brand. It showcases innovation in product development by making HbbTV available as a service while maintaining the familiar experience of cable TV. Impact
• TIVEE is currently distributed under the brands of 10 German network operators • TIVEE achieves a basic coverage of around 450.000 DVB-C households in Germany. • 75% of visitors visit TIVEE more than 10 times. Most have opened TIVEE 51-100 times. • Average time spent watching TIVEEs channels is way over 10 minutes. • 8 categories with more than 30 channels are integrated in TIVEE • 3 channels have been added to the portfolio since the launch. DDR TV-Archiv, TIERWELT live, Royalworld The first idea for TIVEE came up when we realised that the required monetization for the Distribution on a dedicated DVB-C channel is much more difficult for a FAST channel than for a classic linear TV channel. This gave rise to the idea of placing not just one FAST Channel on one DVB-C channel, but a whole new world for all the FAST Channels out there. In addition, the German network operators were faced with the elimination of the ability to allocate TV costs via ancillary costs. TIVEE not only gave them the opportunity to gift their customers new free TV content they haven’t seen before, but also to directly address viewers with their own ads in their living rooms to advertise products and direct them to order routes via QR codes. Advertisers get access to a whole new target group through TIVEE, which they did not have in their former OTT streaming world. FAST channels, operators, customers, advertisers –winners only with TIVEE.
